Razia: The Girl Who Was Never Allowed to Dream

A story of Razia, a girl who was never allowed to dream.

Dreams beyond Chains.

Some stories break your heart, some make you angry—but then there are stories like Razia’s that open your eyes. Razia's journey was basically narrated by Mahira Khan,a renowned actresses of Pakistani industry, shown on Express Entertainment. The story was not of one girl, but a story of every second girl who is born in the family where the birth of a girl is considered more like a crime. Razia was born to a family who expected the birth of a baby boy. From the moment she opened her eyes in this world, she was a big question mark for the family. Even relatives and the environment had an unspoken message that was, Daughter is less valuable. As she grew older, this message became even clearer. Her brother on the other side was given more love, freedom, attention, and priority, while Razia remained under the shadow of great ignorance. Actually, Razia is not an ordinary girl. She is bright, outspoken, hardworking, and capable of achieving wonders. She studies with dedication, receiving medals, trophies, and certificates. Yet, unfortunately her achievements are wiped away because they were simply from a girl. People usually says a girl will leave her parents' home, so there's no need to educate her.

Her dreams are simple. She wants to ride a bicycle like her brother, Ali. Feel the wind on her face and the freedom that is untouched by her. Yet unfortunately, this was not possible under that roof. As Razia grew older, her family thought of her marriage as the easiest way to get rid of her. So they’ve already made up their minds. The scariest part of her life is not far away. Her brother is caught red-handed in adultery. The society members gave two options to their family: either to kill Ali or to give Razia in marriage to that family with whom Ali was caught. Now, of course, Ali, the spoiled brat, was to be saved. So Razia is given in marriage. This marriage is more than a torture for her now. A burden that is shifted to another narrow-minded man. Her second home is worse than her own. Her husband is cruel, abusive, and more ignorant. A man who beats his wife daily. Every day was torture, yet Razia endured this patience

Now the saddest part of the story arrives when Razia gives birth to her daughter. Instead of celebration, she was beaten, insulted, mistreated, and abused by her husband. The society made her realize that she has committed another crime by giving birth to another girl. But this time, the pain, sorrow, and grief were getting more strength and courage. The birth of her daughter made her courageous. Razia refuses to stay quiet for the very first time. The day she was discharged from the hospital, no one received her or even welcomed her in the home. But she was again insulted by her husband. Atlast he divorced her. From here, the life of the mother and the small angel changes. Razia proudly took her daughter and moved out of that dungeon, taking a breath of freedom. Now Razia welcomed the new life with a smile, hoping to rebuild her life with her daughter’s as well. She teaches, earns, and raises her daughter with love. Razia's daughter grows up. And the most touching part of the story? She bought her daughter a new bicycle, the very thing Razia had been denied as a child,so her little girl could enjoy the simple joys of freedom.

Razia is finally living her life and also taking good care of her daughter by supporting her in all that she deserves being a girl and daughter.

Razia’s story is a powerful reminder: a single spark of courage can change lives. Girls can change the societal norms. Pursue their dream. and build a future of hope, not just for themselves, but for generations to come.
